Morocco: Automotive Sector Exports Exceed 77 Billion Dirhams by End of May 2026

Morocco’s automotive sector exports have surpassed 77 billion dirhams by the end of May 2026, marking an increase of 15.9% compared to the same period last year. This achievement solidifies the automobile industry as the leading driver of exports for the Kingdom.
Manufacturing and Wiring Boost International Sales
According to the latest data published by the Exchange Office, this growth is primarily fueled by automobile manufacturing, with exports rising significantly by 27.1% to reach 31.30 billion dirhams.
The electric wiring harness segment is also continuing its upward trend with an increase of 12.2%, contributing 28.89 billion dirhams in export revenues.
Aerospace Sector Continues Its Momentum
The aerospace sector is also experiencing positive development, with exports totaling 13.85 billion dirhams, reflecting a 14.2% year-on-year increase.
This performance is backed by growth in assembly activities (+19.7%) as well as an increase in exports of electrical interconnection systems (EWIS), which saw a growth of 3.6%.
Mixed Results Across Sectors
The agriculture and agri-food sector also recorded favorable growth, with an increase of 3.4% in its exports.
Conversely, several industries faced declines during the first five months of the year. Exports in the textile and leather sector fell by 9.1%, while those in the electronics and electricity sectors dropped by 9.8%, and sales of phosphates and derivatives also decreased by 11.2%.
Moroccan Exports Continue Their Growth
Overall, Moroccan exports reached 211.41 billion dirhams by the end of May 2026, representing a growth of 5.8% compared to the same period in 2025. These results reflect the resilience of Morocco’s foreign trade, driven particularly by the strong performance of the automotive and aerospace sectors.
