Morocco Wins Gold and Bronze

Islamic Solidarity Games: The Moroccan taekwondo team secured two medals on Sunday in Riyadh during the 6th edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games.

Champion Haitam Zarhouti clinched the gold medal in the -82 kg category after defeating Iran’s Amir Reza Sadeghi with a score of 2-0.

In the women’s -51 kg category, champion Oumaima El Bouchti earned the bronze medal following her victory against Pakistan’s Fateemaah Khawar, also with a score of 2-0.

In a statement to the press after the medal ceremony, Haitam Zarhouti emphasized that the -82 kg category in the Islamic world features many prestigious names among Olympic and World champions, adding that this medal holds significant importance in his sporting career.

With this victory, Morocco has increased its tally to 13 medals: 6 gold, 2 silver, and 5 bronze, currently placing 8th in the medal standings.
