SMS Inviting Citizens to Pay Traffic Fines… NARSA Provides Clarifications

The National Road Safety Agency (NARSA) has denied sending SMS messages containing a link directing recipients to its website for the payment of traffic fines, stating that it is a fraudulent link.
“Following the recent dissemination of voice messages suggesting that some citizens received SMS messages containing a link to the NARSA website for the payment of fines related to violations detected by fixed radar, the National Road Safety Agency informs all citizens that it does not offer any such service and has absolutely no connection to these SMS messages,” the agency stated in a release.
Furthermore, the mentioned website is fake and impersonates an official service that is not part of the digital services provided by NARSA to its users, according to the same source.
In this regard, NARSA urges all citizens and road users to exercise utmost vigilance regarding this type of suspicious SMS or electronic links, advising them to refrain from clicking on them and to verify the addresses of official websites.
The agency also calls on all users to neither enter nor share any personal information or sensitive data, including banking information or passwords on these suspicious sites, and it recommends immediately reporting any suspicious activity or related matters to the appropriate authorities,” the statement concluded.
