Vueling Strengthens Its Presence in Morocco with Four New Flight Routes

Vueling Expands Its Reach in Morocco with New Summer Routes

Spanish low-cost airline Vueling is continuing its development in Morocco by launching four new direct routes between Spain and the Kingdom for the summer season. This expansion responds to the strong growth in demand within this market.

This marks the most significant enhancement of the airline’s network between the two countries since it began operations, with a particular focus on tourist destinations and cities that experience high traffic during the summer months.

The new routes connect Barcelona to Nador, Barcelona to Fès, Alicante to Tangier, and Santiago de Compostela to Marrakech, thus expanding travel options between the two shores of the Mediterranean.

With this extension, Vueling now operates ten direct routes linking five Spanish airports—Barcelona, Alicante, Bilbao, Santiago de Compostela, and Seville—to six Moroccan cities: Tangier, Marrakech, Agadir, Essaouira, Fès, and Nador.

The airline indicates that the Barcelona-Tangier route is the busiest in its Moroccan network, with up to 12 flights per week during July and August. The Barcelona-Marrakech route also maintains a strong frequency year-round, offering between six and eight flights weekly, including off-peak tourist seasons.

Among the new offerings, the Alicante-Tangier route, inaugurated at the beginning of May, marks Vueling’s first direct connection between these two cities.

The airline is also developing its services to Essaouira, with direct flights from Barcelona and Seville. The Seville-Essaouira route remains the only direct air connection between southern Spain and the Windy City.

Regarding Agadir, Vueling exclusively operates direct flights from Barcelona, highlighting the strategic role of the Catalan capital in its operations to Morocco.

With six of the ten direct routes operated from Barcelona, this airport emerges as Vueling’s primary hub between Spain and Morocco, concentrating the highest weekly capacity of the airline in this market.
