Heat Wave Predicted Across Morocco

The General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts a significant heat wave accompanied by high temperatures ranging from 34 to 42°C, starting Thursday and lasting until next Monday across several regions of the Kingdom.

In an orange-level alert bulletin, the Directorate indicated that this heat wave is expected from Thursday to Saturday, with temperatures fluctuating between 36 and 41°C in the provinces and prefectures of Ouezzane, Meknès, Fès, Moulay Yacoub, Taounate, Sidi Kacem, Khémisset, Sidi Slimane, Khouribga, Fquih Ben Salah, Khénifra, Settat, Youssoufia, El Kelaâ des Sraghna, Marrakech, Rehamna, Béni Mellal, Chichaoua, Taroudant, Kénitra, Larache, Benslimane, Nouaceur, Berrechid, Guelmim, and Sidi Bennour.

The phenomenon is expected to persist from Saturday to Monday, with temperatures reaching between 39 and 42°C in the provinces of Oued Ed-Dahab, Aousserd, Boujdour, Assa-Zag, Smara, and Tata.

Additionally, the General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts hot weather for Thursday and Friday, with temperatures ranging from 37 to 42°C in the provinces of Agadir-Ida Ou Tanane, Essaouira, Safi, Inezgane-Aït Melloul, Chtouka-Aït Baha, and Tiznit. In the cities of Casablanca, Mediouna, Mohammedia, Rabat, Salé, Skhirat-Témara, El Jadida, and Sidi Ifni, temperatures are expected to vary between 34 and 38°C.
