Casablanca Stock Exchange Starts Strong on Monday

The Casablanca Stock Exchange opened on a high note this Monday, with its main index, the MASI, rising by 1.47% to reach 18,920.42 points.

The MASI 20, which comprises the 20 most liquid stocks, increased by 1.66% to 1,542.08 points. Meanwhile, the MASI ESG, which tracks companies with the best ESG ratings as published by Moody’s ESG Solutions, saw a 2% rise, reaching 1,284.44 points.

The MASI Mid and Small Cap, which measures the performance of small and medium enterprises listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, climbed by 0.75% to 1,835.94 points.

Among individual stocks, the best performers included Société des Boissons du Maroc, which surged by 8.4% to 2,246 MAD, Maghreb Oxygène, up by 6.54% to 417.25 MAD, and Ciments du Maroc, which rose by 6.23% to 2,029 MAD. Other notable gains were recorded by Med Paper (+4.83% to 29.93 MAD) and Delta Holding (+4.66% to 75.99 MAD).

Conversely, Ib Maroc.com experienced the steepest decline, dropping by 5.86% to 72.02 MAD, followed by Involys, down 3.85% to 221.1 MAD. Afric Industries fell by 1.87% to 328.55 MAD, Vicenne by 1.65% to 478 MAD, and Ennakl by 1.5% to 57.12 MAD.

On Friday, the MASI had closed with a loss of 0.58%.
