Morocco’s Rising Power in International Tourism: A Significant Progression

Morocco continues to elevate its status on the international tourism stage, recording notable advancements in global rankings since 2019. According to data reported by specialized press, the Kingdom has gained approximately 12 positions worldwide, confirming the increasing appeal of Morocco as a travel destination for international visitors.

This achievement is part of a broader dynamic aimed at developing the national tourism sector, supported by public strategies designed to enhance the promotion of the destination, diversify tourism offerings, and improve hospitality infrastructures.

As a result, Morocco has solidified its position among the most dynamic global destinations, buoyed by a post-pandemic recovery and a consistent increase in tourist arrivals. The country is also benefiting from heightened visibility in international markets, particularly in Europe, North America, and several emerging markets.

This evolution also reflects the efforts made to highlight the natural, cultural, and heritage assets of the Kingdom, spanning from major cities like Marrakech, Casablanca, and Rabat to coastal and desert destinations.

The sector’s authorities are now focusing on the tourism roadmap leading up to 2026, with ambitious goals regarding visitor numbers and revenue, aiming to sustainably reinforce Morocco’s standing among the world’s top tourist destinations.
