CAF Awards 2025: Celebrating African Football Excellence

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has revealed the final lists of the top three nominees in each of the men’s categories for the CAF Awards 2025, highlighting a strong presence from Moroccan football representatives.

According to a statement from CAF, this prestigious ceremony will take place in Rabat, Morocco, on November 19 at 7:00 PM local time (6:00 PM GMT). The event aims to celebrate the exceptional performances and achievements that have marked African football this year.

Notably, Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi (Paris SG) has been nominated among the top three for the "African Player of the Year" title, competing alongside Egyptian Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) and Nigerian Victor Osimhen (Galatasaray).

In the Best Goalkeeper category, Moroccan keepers Yassine Bounou (Al Hilal) and Mounir Mohamedi (RS Berkane) stand out, alongside South African Ronwen Williams (Mamelodi Sundowns).

For the "Interclub Player of the Year" award, Moroccans Mohamed Chibi (Pyramids FC) and Oussama Lamlioui (Renaissance Berkane) are in contention, along with Congolese Fiston Mayele.

The "Coach of the Year" category features Mohamed Ouahbi and Walid Regragui, who, along with Cape Verdean Budista, round out the top three nominees for this prestigious title.

In the "Young Player of the Year" category, Moroccan talents Othmane Maamma (Watford) and Abdellah Ouazane (Ajax) are competing against South African Tylon Smith (Queens Park Rangers).

Additionally, in the "National Team of the Year" category, both the senior national team and the under-20 national team from Morocco have been nominated for the title of "Men’s National Team of the Year," alongside the Cape Verdean national team. Meanwhile, Renaissance Sportive de Berkane will compete with Pyramids FC and Mamelodi Sundowns for the African Club of the Year award.

The CAF Awards promises to be a grand celebration of the immense talent and achievements within African football, showcasing the continent’s rich sporting heritage.
