Casablanca Stock Exchange Opens in the Red
The Casablanca Stock Exchange started trading on a negative note on Friday, with its main index, the MASI, declining by 0.12% to reach 18,364.79 points.
The MASI 20, which includes the 20 most liquid stocks, also fell by 0.12% to 1,492.99 points. Meanwhile, the MASI ESG, an index featuring companies with the highest ESG ratings as published by Moody’s ESG Solutions, dropped by 0.23% to 1,242.62 points.
On the other hand, the MASI Mid and Small Cap, which tracks the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, decreased by 0.49% to 1,795.97 points.
In terms of individual stocks, Microdata recorded the largest loss, down 5.13% to 739 DH, followed by Sanlam Maroc (-4.9% to 1,900 DH), Aluminum du Maroc (-3.93% to 1,758 DH), CTM (-3.78% to 891 DH), and Involys (-3.64% to 212 DH).
Conversely, the best performers included BCP, which rose by 2.86% to 288 DH, SNEP (+2.67% to 500 DH), Aradei Capital (+1.37% to 445 DH), Maghreb Oxygène (+1.27% to 389.9 DH), and Douja Prom Addoha (+0.82% to 36.7 DH).
On Thursday, the MASI had closed with a gain of 0.08%.
