Royal Air Maroc Strengthens Its International Network and Expansion at Seminar on Brazil and Arab Countries

Royal Air Maroc Highlights Expansion of International Network at Brazil-Arab Tourism Seminar
Royal Air Maroc showcased the growth of its network and strengthened international connections during a seminar focused on tourism and business relations between Brazil and Arab countries, held in São Paulo. The event gathered stakeholders from the public, private, and financial sectors, as well as representatives from the United Nations.
The meeting was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding aimed at attracting Arab investments in Brazil’s tourism sector, which is projected to reach a market value of $384 billion by 2028. Key areas of focus include tourist infrastructure, hospitality, and the development of new hubs.
The airline reintroduced the São Paulo–Casablanca route in December 2024, operating four weekly flights with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. This strategic link reinforces its role as a gateway between Brazil and the Arab world, thus enhancing tourist and trade flows. According to Osman Baba, Regional Director of Royal Air Maroc for Latin America, the number of seats offered between Morocco and Brazil increased from approximately 85,000 in 2025 to nearly 130,000 in 2026, marking a 30% rise.
Royal Air Maroc also confirmed the expansion of its international routes from its hub in Casablanca and the introduction of new destinations, strengthening its position as a major intercontinental carrier connecting Brazil to Africa, Europe, and the Arab world.
Brazilian Minister of Tourism Gustavo Feliciano emphasized the strategic importance of relations with Arab countries, describing them as a key lever for the internationalization of Brazilian tourism. William Adib Dib Junior, President of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, noted that the memorandum signifies a concrete step in bilateral relations, transforming historical ties into investment and partnership opportunities.
Mohamed Amin Joudani, representing the Moroccan National Tourism Office, highlighted the growing trend of Brazilian tourists visiting Morocco, with the number expected to rise from around 34,000 in 2023 to nearly 60,000 by 2025. This growth is the result of a structured strategy based on active market presence, professional training, and robust partnerships.
Royal Air Maroc connects Africa, Europe, Asia, North America, and South America from Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca, servicing 100 destinations across 46 countries. The airline is currently in an expansion phase, aiming to become a major intercontinental player, with a strategic plan for 2023-2037 that includes a fleet of 200 aircraft and 32 million annual passengers by 2037, up from 7.5 million in 2024. A commitment to a sustainable future is also a priority, with the launch of its first flight using sustainable aviation fuel scheduled for 2025.
