Nasser Bourita Represents King Mohammed VI at the Inauguration of Djiboutian President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Living Abroad, Nasser Bourita, represented His Majesty King Mohammed VI at the inauguration ceremony of the President of the Republic of Djibouti, Ismaïl Omar Guelleh, which was held on Saturday in the Djiboutian capital.
This official participation reflects Morocco’s ongoing diplomatic commitment on the African continent as well as the strengthening of bilateral relations between Rabat and Djibouti.
An Official Ceremony Attended by African Leaders
The inauguration ceremony took place at the International Conference Center of Djibouti, attended by several heads of state and government, foreign delegations, representatives from international organizations, and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the country.
On this occasion, Ismaïl Omar Guelleh took the oath of office for a new five-year term as the head of the Republic of Djibouti.
Nasser Bourita Conveys King Mohammed VI’s Congratulations
Mandated by the Sovereign, Nasser Bourita conveyed to the Djiboutian president the warm congratulations of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, along with His wishes for success in his high office.
The Moroccan minister also expressed the Sovereign’s hopes that the Djiboutian people will continue their path towards greater development, stability, and prosperity.
This Moroccan representation illustrates the central role that African diplomacy plays in the Kingdom’s foreign policy.
Morocco Strengthens its Diplomatic Presence in Africa
Nasser Bourita’s participation in this ceremony is part of Morocco’s African strategy, marked by the strengthening of political, economic, and institutional partnerships with various countries on the continent.
Relations between Morocco and Djibouti have seen increasing dynamism in recent years, particularly in the areas of African cooperation and diplomatic dialogue.
His Majesty King Mohammed VI had previously sent a congratulatory message to Ismaïl Omar Guelleh upon his re-election to the presidency of Djibouti, praising the president’s efforts for the development and prosperity of the Djiboutian people.
