Borussia Dortmund Parts Ways with Coach Nuri Sahin After Fourth Consecutive Defeat

Borussia Dortmund announced on Wednesday the termination of its contract with coach Nuri Sahin, following a fourth consecutive defeat across all competitions, which was recorded against Bologna (2-1) in the Champions League.
Despite still holding a relatively decent position in the Champions League (13th place in their group), the German club is trailing significantly in the Bundesliga, sitting 20 points behind leaders Bayern Munich.
Formerly an assistant to coach Edin Terzic last season, Sahin was promoted to head the team in the summer of 2024. At 36 years old, the former Turkish international previously won the Bundesliga with Dortmund in 2011.
The club has yet to announce the name of his replacement for Saturday’s match against Werder Bremen in the league.
