COSUMAR Earns the “Made in Morocco” Label and Strengthens Its National Presence

COSUMAR Group Achieves "Made in Morocco" Certification from Moroccan Standardization Institute

The COSUMAR Group has been awarded the "Made in Morocco" certification, granted by the Moroccan Institute of Standardization. This accolade honors nearly a century of Moroccan industrial and agricultural history, along with a national expertise passed down through generations.

This distinction recognizes an integrated model that has been gradually developed since 1929, deeply rooted in Moroccan territories and driven by dedicated individuals who have contributed for decades to the growth of a high-performing national sugar sector that creates value. It also reflects the Group’s ongoing commitment to food sovereignty for the Kingdom, enhancing national industrial competitiveness, and promoting Moroccan products on the international stage.

The "Made in Morocco" label is based on a rigorous standard that certifies the Moroccan origin of products, confirming their compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. It ensures that the products are manufactured under controlled conditions throughout their value chain, adhering to principles of compliance, traceability, and factual proof.

Through its agricultural, industrial, logistical, commercial, and export activities, COSUMAR relies on an ecosystem comprising over 80,000 partner farmers and 1,300 employees, alongside expertise that covers the entire value chain—from agricultural upstream to industrial processing, packaging, and export. Developed over the decades and supported by a network of regional and national partners, this integrated organization reflects the Group’s capacity to structure a national industry aligned with the highest international standards in quality, safety, and industrial performance.

For nearly a century, the sugar sector has been instrumental in supporting Morocco’s agricultural and industrial development, while actively contributing to the economic and social dynamics of various regions. Today, COSUMAR operates an industrial system consisting of seven sugar factories and two refineries located within the national territory, boasting a total capacity of 2.5 million tons per year.

In 2025, COSUMAR achieved record production levels with over 2 million tons of white sugar produced, of which 1.2 million tons were intended for the national market, and 851,000 tons were exported to more than 90 countries. Since 2013, the Group has also exported over 6 million tons of white sugar outside the subsidy system, showcasing the operational excellence of the national sugar industry, its international competitiveness, and the appeal of Moroccan sugar in global markets.

This certification also reflects COSUMAR’s commitment to national strategic priorities, particularly in strengthening food sovereignty, promoting local content, fostering industrial development in the Kingdom, and enhancing Moroccan expertise on the international stage.

By labeling its products with the "Made in Morocco" seal, COSUMAR reaffirms its ambition to lead a sustainable, innovative, and future-oriented Moroccan sector while helping to build confidence in locally produced goods and showcasing the excellence of Moroccan industrial and agricultural expertise beyond the Kingdom’s borders.
