Morocco and Germany Strengthen Economic Partnership with Over 7 Billion Euros in Trade Exchanges

Economic Relations between Morocco and Germany Continue Positive Momentum

The economic relations between Morocco and Germany are advancing on a positive trajectory, driven by increased trade and strengthened bilateral cooperation. In 2025, trade volume between the two countries exceeded 7 billion euros, confirming the robustness of their economic partnership.

This performance solidifies Morocco’s position as one of Germany’s key partners in Africa, with the Kingdom now recognized as Berlin’s second largest trading partner on the continent. This status is attributed to growing investments and the expansion of cooperation in vital sectors, including industry, energy, and innovation.

This development aligns with the strategic partnership launched in 2022, which has opened new avenues for collaboration in areas such as the economy, energy transition, training, and innovation, reflecting the shifts in the global economy.

This new momentum comes as Morocco and Germany celebrate 70 years of diplomatic relations, a partnership founded on a historical cooperation that has significantly intensified in recent years, both economically and institutionally.

Beyond commercial exchanges, the two countries are enhancing their partnerships among economic and industrial actors, while also reinforcing institutional cooperation to support the business climate and encourage investments.

Strategically, the Nigeria-Morocco Atlantic Gas Pipeline remains one of the cornerstone projects of this regional cooperation. Designed to connect several West African countries to the European market through Morocco, it aims to bolster energy integration and stimulate regional economic development.

The project has recently reached a significant milestone with the approval of the intergovernmental agreement by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), paving the way for the acceleration of one of Africa’s most important energy initiatives.
