The Ministry of Health and KAOUN International Announce the Launch of GITEX FUTURE HEALTH AFRICA in Morocco, the First Pan-African Technology Event Dedicated to the Digital Transformation of Health Systems.

Marrakech, April 15, 2025 – During the third edition of GITEX AFRICA Morocco, the largest African exhibition dedicated to technology and startups, His Excellency Mr. Amine Tehraoui, Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Kingdom of Morocco, announced the launch of GITEX FUTURE HEALTH AFRICA/Morocco, in partnership with KAOUN International, the organizer of GITEX on both a continental and global scale.
The highly anticipated event, a major turning point for the health economy, was officially inaugurated with the signing of a partnership agreement. Held under the auspices of the Moroccan Ministry of Health and Social Protection, this large-scale event is organized in collaboration with the Mohammed VI Foundation for Science and Health (FM6SS) and driven by KAOUN International, which oversees GITEX in Africa and worldwide.
Scheduled to take place in Casablanca from April 21 to 23, 2026, GITEX FUTURE HEALTH AFRICA/Morocco will also feature the GITEX DIGI_HEALTH exhibition. This premier platform aims to drive the transformative momentum in Morocco and across the African continent in addressing crucial challenges related to information, healthcare delivery, accessibility, and the effectiveness of health services. By leveraging advancements in artificial intelligence and digital technologies, the event positions itself as a catalyst for sustainable change in support of more efficient, equitable, and resilient healthcare systems.
In a powerful statement, Minister Amine Tehraoui declared: “GITEX FUTURE HEALTH AFRICA/Morocco reflects the unwavering conviction of the Kingdom that health is a fundamental and universal right. As medical innovation reshapes the healthcare landscape across the African continent, its impact extends to infrastructure, skill development, increased access to care, and enhanced treatment options. Through targeted international partnerships, strategic investments, and strengthened cooperation, we have a unique opportunity to build resilient, inclusive, and equitable healthcare systems that can meet the needs of all populations, without discrimination.”
The vision of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Science and Health aligns perfectly with this momentum: “As a key player in the fields of health, training, and scientific research, the Mohammed VI Foundation for Science and Health is committed, alongside the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and Kaoun International, to establishing Morocco as a continental hub for Health Tech, leveraging its medical and academic expertise in the development of digital health and medical technologies in Morocco and Africa, thus shaping the healthcare ecosystem of tomorrow.”
Morocco is establishing itself as a pioneer in the area of digital health, determinedly progressing towards an integrated health information system. The country is promoting the adoption of cutting-edge medical technologies to strengthen the resilience of its infrastructures and services. On a continental scale, the African healthcare market is estimated to be worth 259 billion US dollars and is projected to become the second-largest global market by 2030, just behind the United States.
Trixie LohMirmand, Managing Director of KAOUN International, the global organizer of GITEX, emphasized: “Today, particularly in Africa, there is an urgent desire among governments and health institutions to modernize and digitize their services to expand their reach, reduce costs, and improve patient outcomes. GITEX FUTURE HEALTH AFRICA/Morocco will highlight the growing role of AI and digital solutions in optimizing data-driven decisions while helping to reduce health access inequalities. The event will pay special attention to public-private partnerships, which are essential for advancing the sector in a structured and efficient manner.”
Over the course of three days, the exhibition will kick off with a high-level summit bringing together hospital and health facility leaders, ministers and senior government officials, CIOs, CTOs, innovators, startup founders, and public decision-makers. This strategic forum will address major themes such as health infrastructure, expanding access to care, data security, integration of national health records, predictive analytics, AI-assisted diagnostics, as well as health investments and research.
In parallel, a major exhibition will host researchers, practitioners, innovators, and health experts from around the world. This gathering will showcase cutting-edge solutions in medical and laboratory equipment, imaging and diagnostics, information systems, hospital architecture, smart hospital management, and digital health—positioning GITEX FUTURE HEALTH AFRICA/Morocco as the largest pan-African showcase of technology applied to health.
