Casablanca: The Ministry of Equipment Unveils the Roadmap for the TEC POLE and Launches its Scientific Tower

Ministry of Equipment and Water Presents Progress of PÔLE TEC Initiative

On Thursday, the Ministry of Equipment and Water unveiled the progress and roadmap of the PÔLE TEC, a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing the technological sovereignty of the Kingdom and accelerating innovation in the water and infrastructure sectors. The presentation took place at the Hassania School of Public Works (EHTP) in Casablanca.

Held under the theme "Technological Pole: A Solid Foundation, an Open Path", the event reviewed the achievements of the first year of PÔLE TEC, which was launched on July 11, 2025, as a Public Interest Group (GIP), and showcased the development prospects for this platform.

During the event, Minister of Equipment and Water Nizar Baraka stated that PÔLE TEC represents a significant evolution in the ministry’s missions, which now seeks not only to manage infrastructures but also to produce knowledge, technologies, standards, and innovative solutions. According to the minister, mastering data, skills, and technologies is now a vital lever for enhancing national resilience, solidifying the Kingdom’s strategic autonomy, and supporting the profound transformations occurring within the water and infrastructure sectors.

The aim of PÔLE TEC is to create an integrated ecosystem that combines training, scientific research, engineering, experimentation, and innovation, transforming research results into operational solutions that address challenges related to water, infrastructure, the resilience of works, and digital transformation.

Abdelfattah Sahibi, the ministry’s Secretary General and president of PÔLE TEC, mentioned that the first year was dedicated to establishing governance and strengthening the administrative, legal, and financial frameworks, alongside launching several applied research projects in strategic areas. He emphasized the need to mobilize all institutional, academic, and scientific partners to make this structure a true engine of innovation, technological sovereignty, and sustainable development.

Jaouad Boutahar, the director of EHTP, highlighted that PÔLE TEC leverages the expertise of the Hassania School of Public Works, the Public Laboratory for Tests and Studies (LPEE), and the Engineering and Development Consultancy (CID) to enhance their capabilities in scientific research and innovation.

The meeting also featured the presentation of nine research projects covering strategic areas such as water, infrastructure, artificial intelligence, digital twins, and advanced technologies. These projects demonstrate PÔLE TEC’s ability to convert scientific work into concrete solutions that address the sector’s needs.

The event also served as the official launch for the construction of the Scientific Tower, a future emblematic infrastructure of PÔLE TEC. Designed as a space dedicated to research, training, experimentation, and scientific cooperation, it will house the various components of the pole in an environment that fosters innovation and the sharing of skills.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdessamad Kayouh, the president of the Casablanca-Settat regional council, Abdellatif Maâzouz, as well as numerous officials from public and private institutions, representatives from professional federations, and academic researchers.
