Cybersecurity and AI: Youth at the Heart of the Digital Debate in Rabat

An Unprecedented Mobilization Around Digital Issues
From April 2 to 4, Rabat hosted the inaugural edition of the EMC Youth MUN, an event that gathered over 100 high school and university students around major digital challenges. Organized as part of Safer Internet Day Morocco 2026, this initiative highlighted key themes such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and digital citizenship.
An Immersion into International Diplomacy
Inspired by the United Nations model, this simulation allowed participants to assume the role of diplomats. Through debates and negotiations, the youth gained a deeper understanding of the mechanisms of digital governance while developing essential skills such as public speaking, critical thinking, and the art of compromise.
Enriched Exchanges with Key Stakeholders
The event was distinguished by the participation of institutions, international organizations, and technology companies, providing young people with a rare opportunity to engage directly with industry experts. These interactions allowed for discussions on sensitive topics such as online security and the impact of algorithms.
Towards Sustainable Youth Engagement
Beyond the educational experience, the ambition is to transform the recommendations made into concrete contributions. The initiative aims to position youth as key players in shaping a more responsible, inclusive, and secure digital landscape.
