The Competition Council has granted Managem S.A. the approval to take exclusive control of Sound Energy Meridja Limited, a subsidiary of the British group Sound Energy, which specializes in the exploration and development of gas projects in Morocco.

Managem Accelerates Diversification in Energy Sector
Recognized as a leading player in the mining industry in Morocco and Africa, Managem is continuing its diversification strategy by enhancing its presence in the energy sector.
This acquisition is a continuation of the initiatives undertaken by the group in recent months to expand its activities in energy resources and contribute to the development of the Kingdom’s gas potential.
A Strategic Acquisition in the Gas Sector
Specializing in the exploration and development of gas assets, Sound Energy Meridja Limited is involved in several hydrocarbon projects in Morocco.
Its integration into Managem will allow the Moroccan group to broaden its portfolio of energy assets and strengthen its position in a rapidly evolving market characterized by the search for new supply sources and the development of national resources.
Supporting the Kingdom’s Energy Ambitions
This acquisition occurs in a context where Morocco is multiplying initiatives aimed at bolstering its energy security and reducing dependence on hydrocarbon imports.
By integrating the activities of Sound Energy Meridja, Managem affirms its ambition to not only be a key player in the mining sector but also in the development of national energy resources.
