Mohammed Bellatig Takes Over the Presidency of GIMAS
The Moroccan Aerospace and Aeronautics Industries Group (GIMAS) has appointed Mohammed Bellatig as its new president, succeeding Karim Cheikh at the helm of the organization representing the national aerospace industry.
This appointment marks the return of a historical figure in the sector, as Mohammed Bellatig was the first president of GIMAS when it was founded in 2006.
A Career Devoted to Aeronautics
A graduate of the National School of Civil Aviation and Space in Toulouse (ISAE-SUPAERO) as an aeronautical engineer, Mohammed Bellatig has spent the majority of his career at Royal Air Maroc (RAM), where he specialized in aircraft maintenance and the management of strategic industrial projects.
Throughout his career, he served as the technical director of the national airline and was involved in the development of several key structures dedicated to aeronautics.
A Key Player in the Development of the Aeronautical Ecosystem
Under his leadership, several joint ventures were established within the Royal Air Maroc group, contributing significantly to the growth of the Moroccan aeronautical sector.
He notably played a role in the creation of SMES, now known as SAESM, which specializes in aircraft engine maintenance, and MATIS, a wiring company developed in partnership with Boeing and Safran, as well as Aerotechnic Industries (ATI), established in collaboration with Air France-KLM.
Mohammed Bellatig has also chaired the boards of directors of SAESM and ATI, further enhancing his experience in managing leading industrial enterprises.
A New Mission to Foster Sector Growth
Currently the General Manager of Satys SP Morocco, a subsidiary of the international Satys group specializing in aircraft and aeronautical component painting, Mohammed Bellatig returns to head GIMAS at a time when the Moroccan aerospace industry continues to grow and attract new investments.
His return to the presidency of the association comes amidst a backdrop of the strengthening of the national aeronautical ecosystem, which has become one of the key industrial hubs in the Kingdom and a recognized player in global supply chains within the sector.
