Moroccan Airports Introduce 100% Mobile Boarding Pass to Streamline Traveler Experience

Airports of Morocco Launches 100% Mobile Boarding Pass Initiative

Airports of Morocco (formerly the National Office of Airports – ONDA) announced on Thursday the rollout of its 100% mobile boarding pass initiative, marking a significant step in the digital transformation of airport services aimed at simplifying and enhancing the passenger journey.

In a statement, Airports of Morocco explained that this innovation allows travelers to access boarding areas directly with a digital boarding pass available on their smartphones, eliminating the need to present a printed version.

This development relies on the implementation of the Pax Check, a system that extends the digitalization of the passenger experience all the way to the airport. After online check-in through their airline’s app, travelers receive a secure QR code that serves as their boarding pass.

Because document verification is conducted in advance by the airlines in accordance with regulatory requirements, passengers benefit from expedited passage through various checkpoints and automated gates.

According to Airports of Morocco, this new system helps minimize document handling, improves flow within terminals, and provides a smoother, more comfortable travel experience, all while maintaining the highest standards of safety and security in line with national and international regulations.

The deployment of the system will be rolled out gradually across all airlines that meet the necessary technical, operational, and regulatory requirements for integration.

With this initiative, Airports of Morocco is taking another step toward the digital transformation of Moroccan airports. The digitization of the boarding pass serves as the first milestone in a fully digital passenger journey designed to adapt to changing habits and respond to the continual growth of air traffic.
