Souss-Massa Strengthens Cooperation with China’s Guizhou Province

The Souss-Massa region is expanding its international partnerships. Agadir recently hosted an important delegation from the Chinese province of Guizhou, as part of a visit aimed at strengthening cooperative relations between the two regions and identifying new collaboration opportunities.
This meeting allowed both parties to reaffirm their commitment to enhancing their friendship and expanding institutional exchanges across several strategic sectors, including scientific research, culture, territorial development, and economic exchanges.
Souss-Massa Capitalizes on Its International Appeal
During this occasion, Karim Achengli, President of the Souss-Massa Regional Council, highlighted the many advantages the region offers, particularly in the economic, tourism, cultural, and scientific fields.
He emphasized that Souss-Massa is establishing itself as an attractive territory for international partnerships due to its development potential, infrastructure, and openness to successful foreign experiences.
According to him, strengthening cooperation with Guizhou province will create new development opportunities benefiting both regions and encourage the exchange of expertise and know-how.
Guizhou Aims to Broaden Cooperation Areas
For their part, the Chinese delegation presented the key features of Guizhou province, highlighting its demographic, economic, and tourism potential.
Chinese representatives expressed their desire to develop closer partnerships with the Souss-Massa region by exploring new avenues of cooperation in high-potential sectors.
Structuring Projects at the Heart of Exchanges
The visit also included a presentation of major structuring projects either completed or underway in the Souss-Massa region.
These exchanges highlighted the development ambitions of the territory and the mutual desire of both partners to build a sustainable cooperation based on trust, experience sharing, and joint projects of common interest.
This meeting is part of the ongoing effort to strengthen relations between Morocco and China, with an increasing interest in decentralized partnerships that promote economic development, innovation, and cultural exchanges.
