Morocco Accelerates Its Tourism Transformation with the Ambition of Welcoming 26 Million Visitors by 2030 – With a focus on modernizing its hospitality offerings, developing new experiences, and enhancing its appeal to investors, the Kingdom is solidifying its position among the world’s premier destinations.

An Ambitious Vision to Make Morocco a Global Destination

At the opening of the GBB Investment Summit Morocco in Rabat, the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, reaffirmed the Kingdom’s ambitions for the tourism sector. Aligned with the vision articulated by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, this strategy aims to position tourism as a major driver of economic growth, job creation, and international influence.

The goal is clear: to attract 26 million tourists by 2030 and solidify Morocco’s status among the most attractive destinations globally.

A New Approach Centered on Traveler Experience

To support this dynamic, Morocco is focusing on a profound transformation of its tourism offerings. The 2023-2026 roadmap prioritizes the experiences of visitors over mere promotional activities for destinations.

This approach highlights the diversity of Morocco’s regions, emphasizing cultural, natural, gastronomic, and recreational experiences that cater to the evolving expectations of international travelers.

Enhancing Hotel Capacity

Increasing accommodation capacity is an essential lever to support sector growth. In recent years, the Kingdom has expanded its hospitality sector with over 45,000 additional beds.

Additionally, the “Cap Hospitality” program aims to renovate over 14,000 hotel rooms through state-supported financing mechanisms. This initiative seeks to enhance the quality of infrastructure and meet international standards.

Morocco Attracts International Investors

The minister also emphasized the importance of a business-friendly environment to draw in more investments. The implementation of Law 80-14 promotes transparency, visibility, and investor confidence in the tourism sector.

Bolstered by its political stability, modern infrastructure, and long-term vision, Morocco increasingly attracts international operators interested in luxury, experiential tourism, lifestyle sectors, and alternative accommodations.

Heading Toward 2030

With sustained growth in the sector and the emergence of new projects across the Kingdom, Morocco aims to continue its tourism development through robust partnerships between public and private stakeholders.
