Official Inauguration of Newton Bridge School: A New Era of Innovative Education in Mohammedia
On June 11, 2026, Newton Bridge celebrated its official inauguration at a prestigious ceremony attended by Her Excellency Ms. Marjaana Sall, the Finnish Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco, along with Ms. Noora Laitio, General Director and co-founder of FinlandWay. The event brought together various institutional and educational personalities, including the Director of the Office of the Governor of Mohammedia, representatives from the educational sector, partners, parents, and civil society members.
Following a guided tour of the school’s facilities, the ceremony officially commenced with a speech from Her Excellency Ms. Marjaana Sall. In her address, the Finnish Ambassador emphasized the importance of educational cooperation between Finland and Morocco, highlighting the shared values of innovation, excellence, and the well-being of learners. She also praised this initiative for enhancing Finnish educational expertise and strengthening ties between the two countries.
Ms. Elham Hamdi, Founder and General Director of the Newton Bridge school group, which includes Newton International School and Al Karaouiyine, presented the project’s vision and ambitions. She reaffirmed the group’s commitment to modern, innovative, and child-centered education that prepares learners for the challenges of tomorrow.
Next to speak was Ms. Noora Laitio, General Director and founder of FinlandWay®, and a member of the Royal Society of Arts in the UK, who introduced the foundations of the Finnish educational methodology and the support that FinlandWay will provide to Newton Bridge in implementing international best pedagogical practices.
A highlight of the ceremony was the official signing of the partnership agreement between Newton Bridge and FinlandWay®, marking the start of a strategic collaboration focused on educational excellence, pedagogical innovation, and learner well-being. This signing officially designates Newton Bridge as a partner institution of FinlandWay® and underscores its commitment to offering students an educational experience inspired by the best practices of the Finnish education system, recognized as one of the most effective worldwide.
Guests were then treated to performances and presentations by our students, showcasing their talents, creativity, and enthusiasm. The official inauguration of Newton Bridge marks a significant milestone in the development of educational offerings in Mohammedia. Through this extensive international partnership, the institution aspires to become a benchmark for innovative, inclusive, and forward-thinking education.
