Tragedy in Tétouan: Two Children Die in Partial Building Collapse

Local authorities in the province of Tétouan reported that two children lost their lives early Saturday morning following the partial collapse of a residential building located in the city’s medina.

A Building Home to Several Families

According to the same sources, the structure, consisting of a ground floor and two upper levels, housed five families totaling 11 people at the time of the incident.

Emergency Response on Scene

Upon receiving the alarm, local authorities, security services, and civil protection teams rushed to the scene to initiate search and rescue operations while securing the perimeter around the partially collapsed building.

Two Victims Despite Rescue Efforts

The operations led to the recovery of the body of a 10-year-old boy. An 8-year-old girl, critically injured, was evacuated to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival.

Investigation Launched

Authorities have stated that the relevant public prosecutor’s office has been contacted to open an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding this tragedy.
