Casablanca Stock Exchange Starts the Day on a Negative Note
The Casablanca Stock Exchange began trading this Friday on a negative note, with its main index, the "MASI," declining by 0.37% to reach 19,068.7 points, continuing the downward trend observed the day before.
Decline of Major Indices
The "MASI.20" index, which comprises the 20 largest capitalizations, recorded a drop of 0.5%, settling at 1,394.74 points. Meanwhile, the "MASI.ESG," which focuses on companies rated highest in environmental and social criteria, decreased by 0.68%, landing at 1,350.86 points.
Rise in Small and Medium Capitalizations
In contrast, the "MASI Mid and Small Cap" index saw an increase of 0.4%, reaching 1,971.71 points, reflecting a degree of resilience among the listed small and medium-sized enterprises.
A Continually Pressured Trend
This opening comes after a slight decline on Thursday, where the MASI index slipped by 0.1%, amid a market environment still characterized by ongoing pressures.
