The RNI Introduces a Program Focused on Purchasing Power

RNI Unveils Electoral Program Focused on Purchasing Power and Savings

On Monday, June 22, 2026, the National Rally of Independents (RNI) unveiled its electoral program in anticipation of the legislative elections scheduled for September. This program centers on two major pillars: supporting citizens’ purchasing power and promoting savings, with a particular focus on improving household living conditions and enhancing their financial stability.

During a meeting in Fez to present this program, the Minister of Economy and Finance and party leader, Nadia Fettah Alaoui, emphasized that protecting purchasing power is a core commitment of the RNI. She clarified that this direction is part of a structured and sustainable vision aimed at tangibly enhancing the daily lives of citizens, rather than a mere reaction to current circumstances.

According to her, this ambition has been realized through various public policies primarily targeting vulnerable groups and the middle class, with the intent of reducing social inequalities and reinforcing the economic stability of households.

Among the key initiatives highlighted is the direct social support program, viewed as one of the cornerstones of the social state. This program has been benefiting around four million Moroccan families for over two and a half years, with monthly amounts ranging from 500 to 1,350 dirhams, depending on social circumstances and household size.

The minister also noted that the international context, characterized by market instability and global economic fluctuations, directly affects citizens’ daily lives, particularly through rising living costs.

In this regard, she explained that the party advocates for a more flexible approach to purchasing power protection, particularly through a mechanism for indexing direct support to inflation. In the event of price increases, automatic boosts to aid could be triggered, eliminating complex administrative processes and prolonged delays, thus ensuring a swift response to inflation’s impact on households.

This system is presented as a genuine "social shield," designed to cushion the shocks associated with rising prices and enhance the effectiveness of the social protection system.

The second pillar of the program focuses on promoting savings, especially for workers in the informal sector. The party proposes implementing a financial incentive mechanism aimed at encouraging savings through simplified accounts. The principle is based on a shared contribution between the citizen and the state: for instance, for a savings amount of 50 dirhams, the state could provide a bonus of 10 dirhams.

The stated goal is to instill a culture of saving and bolster the financial security of households in the medium and long term.

In conclusion, Nadia Fettah Alaoui affirmed that these measures are part of a comprehensive vision aiming to solidify the foundations of the social state, enhance purchasing power, support middle and vulnerable classes, and provide citizens with better financial planning tools amid economic uncertainties.
