WATEC Highlights Morocco’s Water Challenges

The Third Edition of the Annual WATEC Seminar: Tackling Water Challenges in Morocco
The third edition of the annual WATEC seminar took place on October 28, 2026, in Bouznika, bringing together experts, public operators, industrialists, and both national and international technology partners to address Morocco’s water challenges. Organized under the theme "Water in the Face of Tomorrow’s Challenges," this meeting emphasized resource diversification, management of energy costs, strengthening of local industrial capacities, and sustainable performance of facilities.
After the first two editions focused on desalination challenges in 2024 and technological advancements in 2025, WATEC expanded this year’s discussions to encompass all potential solutions that could contribute to the Kingdom’s water security.
According to Mohamed Amine, founder and CEO of WATEC, the challenge now goes beyond simply mobilizing new water resources; it also involves developing the skills and capacities necessary for their sustainable management. He emphasized that this requires mastering technologies, adapting them to local realities, and enhancing the national industrial expertise. This approach has guided the company for nearly forty years, and the seminar aims to promote dialogue among experts, share technological advancements, and foster the development of the entire sector.
In light of evolving water needs, solutions must rely on a complementary approach combining multiple strategies, including desalination, demineralization, purification, water reuse, and pumping. Implementing these solutions must consider the specificities of regions, uses, and operating conditions to ensure the durability and efficiency of the installations.
Founded in 1987, WATEC is a Moroccan company specializing in water-related fields. It designs, integrates, and implements solutions for territories, institutions, and industries, particularly in the areas of desalination, demineralization, purification, and pumping.
Its integrated model covers various stages, from engineering to technology integration, as well as the construction and commissioning of facilities. These activities are supplemented by maintenance and monitoring services, according to contracts established with clients.
With nearly forty years of experience and expertise developed by Moroccan talent, WATEC aims to strengthen national capacities and develop industrial skills in the water sector.
