Rabat Hosts the Annual Tourism Congress

ANVR 2025: The Congress Makes Its Debut in Rabat

The Dutch Federation of the Tourism Industry (ANVR) is holding its annual congress in Morocco for the first time, from November 13 to 16, 2025, under the theme “Connecting,” as announced by the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT).

This event, organized in Rabat in partnership with the ONMT, brings together over 220 Dutch tourism decision-makers, including leaders from tour operators, airlines, financial institutions, insurance companies, media, and academia.

A Strategic Showcase for Moroccan Tourism

The congress presents a unique opportunity to promote Morocco as a destination, providing an ideal framework for professional exchanges, fostering business synergies, and strengthening Rabat’s positioning as a top choice for travelers from the Benelux region.

According to Achraf Fayda, Director General of the ONMT, “By hosting ANVR 2025, Morocco reaffirms its place among the world’s major tourist destinations, positioning Rabat, the City of Light and cultural capital, as a convergence point for European travel leaders.”

Sustained Tourist Growth from the Benelux Region

The congress takes place against a backdrop of positive momentum for Moroccan tourism: as of the end of August 2025, tourist arrivals from the Benelux are up by 11% from Belgium and 14% from the Netherlands, compared to 2024.

New Flight Route from Amsterdam to Rabat

On the sidelines of the congress, Transavia launched a new direct flight route from Amsterdam to Rabat, operating twice a week (Thursdays and Sundays). This connection facilitates business tourism and short stays while allowing the discovery of key cities in northern and central Morocco: Tangier, Chefchaouen, Fez, and Meknes.

ONMT: A Driving Force Behind Tourism Appeal

Through this initiative, the ONMT confirms its strategic role in attracting and retaining high-potential European markets, placing Rabat and Morocco on the map of influential destinations for professionals and travelers alike.
