Significant Increase in Air Traffic at Moroccan Airports

Moroccan Airports See Commercial Traffic of 3,133,378 Passengers in January 2026, marking a 14.7% increase compared to the same period last year. These figures were released by the National Airports Office (ONDA), highlighting the positive momentum of air travel at the beginning of the year.

This growth is primarily driven by the rise in international traffic, which accounts for the majority of passenger flows at the Kingdom’s airports.

Mohammed V Airport Dominates National Traffic

Being the country’s main air hub, the Mohammed V Airport recorded 1,062,683 passengers in January 2026, representing over 33% of total traffic across Moroccan airports.

In comparison to January 2025, this airport demonstrated a notable increase of 20.91%, confirming its central role in both international and regional connectivity for Morocco.

Thus, international traffic accounts for nearly 90% of total passenger volume, underscoring the significance of international connections in Moroccan airport operations.

Europe Remains the Primary Air Travel Market

This volume represents a 13.62% increase compared to January 2025, confirming the intensification of air transport activity.

Growth in Air Freight Traffic

Air freight also recorded positive growth. In January 2026, the transported volume reached over 9,327 tons, compared to 8,685 tons a year earlier, marking a 7.38% increase.
