The Commonwealth of Dominica Reiterates Its Support for Morocco’s Territorial Integrity and Sovereignty over Its Sahara, Affirming Its Backing for the Moroccan Autonomy Plan as the Sole Solution

Rabat – On Thursday, the Foreign Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Vince Henderson, reaffirmed “the unwavering support of the Commonwealth of Dominica for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Morocco over its entire territory, including the Sahara region.”

This stance was expressed during a press briefing following his discussions in Rabat with Nasser Bourita, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Living Abroad.

The Dominica minister further welcomed “the increasing international consensus and the momentum initiated by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in favor of the autonomy plan presented by the Kingdom of Morocco.”

In this regard, he reiterated “the full support of the Commonwealth of Dominica for the Moroccan autonomy plan, which it considers to be the only credible, serious, and realistic solution.”

Mr. Henderson also expressed his satisfaction with “Security Council Resolution 2797 from last October, which recognizes the autonomy plan proposed by Morocco. This plan is acknowledged as the only viable path to resolving the Sahara issue.”
