Swissport Expands Its Presence in Morocco with the Acquisition of Swiftair Maroc
Swissport is continuing its expansion in Morocco with the acquisition of Swiftair Maroc, a Casablanca-based company specializing in air freight handling. Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
This acquisition is part of the group’s strategy to consolidate its position in the Moroccan airport services market.
Strengthening Swissport’s Position in Morocco
Already well-established in the Kingdom, Swissport is involved in various ground airport operations. Its Moroccan subsidiary currently provides assistance services at 16 airports across the country. The group is also active in business aviation in Casablanca, Marrakech, and Tangier, operating 10 airport lounges under the Aspire brand located at nine sites.
Accelerating Air Freight Operations
With the integration of Swiftair Maroc, Swissport significantly enhances its standing in the air freight segment, which is a rapidly growing market. Notably, Swiftair Maroc has a 3,700 square meter warehouse located at Casablanca Airport, equipped with temperature-controlled facilities, including cold storage for pharmaceutical products and perishable goods.
