Safran Aerosystems Morocco Expands Operations to Enhance Aerospace Production
On Thursday, Ryad Mezzour, the Minister of Industry and Trade, officially inaugurated the extension of Safran Aerosystems Morocco’s industrial site in Tiflet. The ceremony was attended by the company’s president, Sébastien Weber, along with several executives from the group.
This new phase of development is part of Morocco’s strategy to bolster its position as a leading industrial hub in the aerospace sector.
A Dedicated Extension for High-Tech Aeronautical Equipment
Covering an area of 5,000 square meters, this expansion will enhance the factory’s production capabilities and introduce new high-value-added activities. The site will manufacture high-performance tubing, oxygen masks, evacuation slide covers, and life vests specifically designed for the aerospace industry.
According to Ryad Mezzour, this project exemplifies the shared commitment between Morocco and the Safran group towards innovation, technological advancement, and enhancing the competitiveness of the national aerospace ecosystem.
A 137 Million Dirham Investment with 140 Jobs on the Horizon
Sébastien Weber highlighted that this expansion represents an investment of 137 million dirhams. The project is expected to create 140 skilled jobs by 2028, while also integrating new high-value-added industrial activities.
He also noted that Morocco has become a strategic industrial hub for the Safran group over the years, which now operates multiple production sites and joint ventures, particularly in Casablanca, Nouaceur, and Rabat.
Morocco Confirms Its Attractiveness in the Aerospace Sector
Having been established for over 17 years in the Ain Johra industrial acceleration zone, the Tiflet site already employs more than 290 skilled workers. It plays a crucial role in Safran’s global supply chain through its assembly of electronic and mechanical systems for the aerospace sector.
Present in Morocco for 25 years, the Safran group is recognized as one of the world’s leaders in the aerospace industry. The company is notably acknowledged as the leading manufacturer of aircraft engines for medium-haul flights and one of the principal aerospace equipment manufacturers globally.
