Artificial Intelligence Drives Allianz to Cut Jobs in Europe

Allianz Partners is poised to undertake a restructuring of its workforce in Europe, cutting several positions within its travel insurance operations. This decision reflects the accelerated integration of artificial intelligence into operational processes to enhance efficiency and optimize performance.
The CEO of Allianz Partners, Tomas Kunzmann, announced at an event held in Munich that this restructuring plan could lead to the elimination of 1,500 to 1,800 jobs across various European countries. He clarified that this reorganization will be carried out through several mechanisms, including early retirement programs, voluntary departure agreements, and other measures aimed at minimizing the social impact of this transformation.
According to Tomas Kunzmann, the increasing deployment of artificial intelligence solutions within the group is a key factor in re-evaluating personnel needs. AI technologies are now capable of performing a growing number of tasks that previously required human intervention, prompting the company to adapt its organization accordingly.
Allianz Partners has already indicated that digital transformation and the gradual adoption of artificial intelligence technologies will permanently alter the structure of its business operations. The insurer views these innovations as an essential pillar of its development strategy, with the goal of improving service quality, strengthening operational efficiency, and adapting to the evolving landscape of the insurance sector.
