Mining Industry: Morocco and Kazakhstan Strengthen Economic Cooperation
Fédération de l’Industrie Minérale Engages with Morocco–Kazakhstan Business Council to Strengthen Economic Ties
The Mineral Industry Federation (FDIM), represented by its president Mohammed Cherrat, participated in the proceedings of the Morocco–Kazakhstan Business Council organized by the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM). This event aims to bolster economic relations between the two countries.
Co-chaired by Mehdi Tazi and Alibek Kuantyrov, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the meeting gathered institutional representatives as well as business leaders from Morocco and Kazakhstan to explore new opportunities for cooperation and investment.
During this occasion, Mohammed Cherrat extended an invitation to Saulekul Sailaukyzy, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Morocco, along with members of the Kazakh delegation, to participate in the 3rd edition of IMC Morocco, scheduled for October 6-8, 2026, in Rabat.
In this context, Driss Benomar, president of the Moroccan side of the Morocco–Kazakhstan Business Council and head of ALOMRA, alongside Dr. Murat Karimsakov, president of the Kazakh side and the International Chamber of Commerce of Kazakhstan, voiced their commitment to mobilize Kazakh operators in the mining sector to ensure significant participation in this event.
IMC Morocco 2026, a key international gathering for the mineral industry, aims to bring together leading players in the sector to discuss strategic challenges related to mining, innovation, energy transition, and the future development of the extractive industries on a global scale.
