Morocco Showcases Its Terroir at Abu Dhabi’s Global Food Week

Morocco’s Participation in Global Food Week (GFW) 2026: Showcasing Local Products and Culinary Heritage
Morocco is set to participate in the Global Food Week (GFW), which will take place from October 6 to 8, 2026, at the ADNEC Exhibition Center in Abu Dhabi. Under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, and Water and Forests, this participation is organized by the Agricultural Development Agency (ADA) as part of efforts to promote Moroccan local products on the international stage.
The Moroccan pavilion will bring together 25 groups representing different regions of the Kingdom. They will showcase a diverse array of products sourced from Morocco’s various regions, with involvement from over 770 small-scale farmers. Notably, rural women comprise nearly 42% of the beneficiaries participating in this collective initiative.
Over 100 Moroccan Products on Display
The pavilion will feature a selection of more than 100 emblematic products, chosen for their authenticity, quality, and commercial potential in international markets.
Throughout the three days of the event, Moroccan exhibitors will be accompanied by the ADA and participate in a program of professional meetings and targeted exchanges. The goal is to foster connections with international operators, identify new business opportunities, and solidify the presence of Moroccan local products in global markets.
Particular attention will be given to the Middle East region, identified as a key area for developing new trade possibilities.
A Pavilion Showcasing Moroccan Experience
Morocco’s presence at Global Food Week will extend beyond product exhibition. The Moroccan pavilion is designed as a space for cultural and sensory immersion, blending contemporary architecture with elements that echo the authenticity of the national heritage.
Moroccan cuisine will take center stage in this experience. A renowned chef will highlight the richness of national gastronomy, emphasizing hospitality and sharing. Musical performances will further accompany this presentation, illustrating the diversity of Morocco’s cultural heritage.
B2B Meetings to Expand Market Opportunities
Global Food Week also aims to serve as a platform for networking among food sector professionals, providing participants the opportunity to discuss market trends, innovative solutions, and cooperation prospects.
In addition to B2B meetings organized by the ADA, Moroccan representatives will benefit from the "Hosted Buyers" program, which facilitates exchanges with international buyers and professionals.
For the cooperatives and groups present in Abu Dhabi, these meetings offer a chance to establish new business contacts and explore potential partnerships to support their export development.
ADA Continues to Support Cooperatives
Participation in Global Food Week aligns with a broader set of initiatives undertaken by the ADA to promote Moroccan local products.
This support specifically focuses on professionalizing cooperatives, enhancing their collective identity through the "Terroir of Morocco" label, and implementing communication campaigns aimed at increasing the visibility of these products.
The ADA is also working on diversifying marketing channels, particularly through digital avenues. This approach aims to facilitate access to local products for new consumers and strengthen their presence across various markets.
Through participation in the Global Food Week in Abu Dhabi, Morocco is thus combining commercial promotion, gastronomic valorization, and cultural dissemination. For the hundreds of small-scale farmers represented, the challenge is to translate this international showcase into new marketing and cooperation opportunities.
