The Moroccan hotel group Risma is advancing its growth strategy within the nation’s key tourist destinations by acquiring the Bavaro Hotel, a four-star establishment in Dakhla. This transaction, valued at 85 million dirhams, also includes adjacent land that offers significant development opportunities.

On April 29, 2026, Risma signed a purchase agreement with Les Villas de la Lagune, the owner of the hotel, which is situated along the picturesque shores of Dakhla Lagoon—one of Morocco’s most attractive tourist spots. This acquisition aligns with the group’s goal to bolster its presence in a rapidly growing market fueled by the rise in tourism and new investments.

The deal is subject to several regulatory approvals, including the green light from the Competition Council. The group aims to complete all necessary procedures by the end of 2026 and will share final details once every step has been finalized.

Les Villas de la Lagune is owned by the MPS Dakhla group, a specialist in tourism and leisure sectors that operates several hotel establishments in the region. This transaction is one of the most significant tourism-related deals recently made in Dakhla.

Through this investment, Risma intends to modernize the hotel and integrate it into a network of international hotel brands, thereby enhancing Dakhla’s appeal to travelers seeking sustainable tourism, water sports, and high-end accommodations. The group plans to capitalize on the extraordinary natural assets of the lagoon and its surroundings.

This acquisition is part of Risma’s broader development strategy in the Moroccan market, where the group continues to invest in high-potential tourist destinations, keeping pace with the growing dynamics of the national sector.

Founded in 1993, Risma is one of Morocco’s leading hotel operators. The group currently manages a portfolio of 22 hotels and a shopping center across 11 cities, covering various segments, including luxury, upscale, mid-range, and budget accommodations.
