Royal Air Maroc Launches New Direct Route Between Essaouira and Casablanca
Royal Air Maroc (RAM) officially inaugurated its new direct air link between Essaouira and Casablanca on Wednesday. This service, set to start on November 1, 2026, aims to enhance connectivity between Moroccan cities and bolster the region’s tourism and economic development.
A result of collaboration among various government ministries, regional authorities, and the national airline, this route will offer two round trips per week, on Wednesdays and Sundays. The fare is set at 400 dirhams per trip in economy class, made possible through a subsidy program.
On this occasion, André Azoulay, advisor to King Mohammed VI and founder of the Essaouira-Mogador Association, emphasized the significance of this route for the city’s tourism development and the promotion of its historical and cultural heritage.
Transport and Logistics Minister Abdessamad Kayouh noted that this initiative aligns with RAM’s 2030 strategy, which aims to strengthen domestic connections and make air travel more accessible.
Flight Schedule for Casablanca-Essaouira Route
From Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca, Wednesday flights will depart at 4:00 PM, arriving in Essaouira at 5:20 PM. On Sundays, departures are scheduled for 8:20 AM, with a 9:40 AM arrival.
For the Essaouira-Casablanca direction, Wednesday flights will leave at 6:00 PM, landing at 7:20 PM, while Sunday flights will take off at 10:20 AM, arriving at 11:40 AM.
This new route will also enable travelers to connect to Royal Air Maroc’s national and international network through Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca, which serves 86 international destinations.
The launch of this line is part of the airline’s efforts to strengthen its presence in Morocco’s airports and support the tourism and economic dynamics of various regions in the country.
