Sothema Announces the Acquisition of Ramo Pharm

Moroccan Pharmaceutical Group Sothema Acquires Ramo Pharm to Expand Wellness Division
On October 28, 2026, in Casablanca, the Moroccan pharmaceutical group Sothema announced the signing of an agreement to acquire 100% of the capital of Ramo Pharm, a company specializing in dietary supplements. This operation is a key part of Sothema’s development strategy, aimed at laying the groundwork for a new business segment focused on wellness and consumer health, aptly named "Wellness & Consumer Health."
Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Casablanca, Ramo Pharm boasts a portfolio of recognized brands in the Moroccan market, including Enrouex®, ZENmag®, Toudex®, Hivernex®, CD Zinc®, and Matervit®. Its products serve various health segments, such as ENT health, immunity, stress and sleep, as well as women’s health. Ramo Pharm has demonstrated sustained growth and has a well-established presence within Morocco’s pharmacy network. The company also possesses a range of innovative products in development, designed to support its growth prospects.
For Sothema, this acquisition aligns with the evolving expectations of patients regarding prevention, wellness, and naturally sourced health solutions. The group aims to capitalize on the growth potential of the dietary supplement market by combining the expertise and strengths of both companies.
This strategic move is expected to enhance and diversify the brand portfolio, solidify the positions of existing products, and accelerate the development and launch of new innovative solutions. Sothema also plans to support the international development of this new segment by leveraging its established presence and distribution networks abroad, while simultaneously harnessing operational synergies between the two groups to facilitate growth and scale up operations.
This acquisition is part of Sothema’s newly structured strategic organization, which will now focus its activities around four therapeutic domains: General Medicine & Chronic Care, Specialty Products, Dialysis Solutions, and Wellness & Consumer Health.
Lamia Tazi, CEO of Sothema, emphasized that the future of a health group hinges on its ability to support patients at every stage of their journey. She views the acquisition of Ramo Pharm as the starting point for an ambitious development platform based on strong brands and the complementary expertise of both companies, with the goal of fast-tracking portfolio growth both in Morocco and internationally.
Karim Akouz, managing partner at Ramo Pharm, noted that over the years, the company has built its reputation on quality, effectiveness, and innovation, aiming to earn the trust of patients and healthcare professionals. He believes that Sothema is the right partner to maintain this spirit, continue the momentum that has been established, and elevate the project to new heights.
Established in 1976, Sothema marks its 50th anniversary in 2026, celebrating decades of expertise in the manufacture and marketing of medications, dietary supplements, and medical devices. The group relies on licensed products stemming from long-term partnerships with 50 leading laboratories, along with its own ranges of generic medications and biosimilars. This enables Sothema to make innovative treatments accessible across the majority of therapeutic areas in Morocco, sub-Saharan Africa, and the Middle East.
