Weather Forecast for Morocco: Friday Highlights

The General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts a warm day across various regions of Morocco this Friday. Expect high temperatures in the Moulouya Valley, the Saïss, the northern and central Atlantic plains, the western Atlas areas, the Souss region, the southeast of the Kingdom, and the southern provinces.

During the night and morning hours, low clouds accompanied by local fog patches are likely near the coast. Unstable, thunderstorm-prone clouds could also lead to scattered showers and significant rainfall in the high plateaus of the Oriental, the Saïss, the Rif, the Atlas mountain ranges, their eastern slopes, the southern part of the country, and the plains west of the Atlas.

Strong local gusts will impact the Atlas reliefs and their eastern slopes, as well as the Oriental region, the plains to the west of the Atlas, and the southern provinces, with dust storms reported in some areas.

Minimum temperatures are expected to range from 30 to 36°C in the southeast, the phosphate plateaus, Oulmès, the northern Sahara provinces, Souss, and Chiadma. In contrast, temperatures will vary between 18 and 24°C in the Atlas, northern Rif, Tanger region, Atlantic coasts, and surrounding areas, while temperatures in the rest of the Kingdom will range from 24 to 30°C.

Maximum temperatures will rise along the Atlantic coast, the Mediterranean shores, the northern and central plains, the Moulouya Valley, and both the northern and southern sections of the Oriental region. However, a decrease in temperatures is anticipated in other areas.

At sea, conditions will remain calm in the Mediterranean and the Strait of Gibraltar, while the waters north of Larache will be calm to slightly rough. Waters south of Larache will be slightly rough to rough.
