Casablanca Stock Exchange Sees Positive Start on Friday
The Casablanca Stock Exchange began trading on a positive note on Friday, with its main index, the MASI, rising by 0.21% to reach 18,793.65 points.
The MASI 20, which tracks the 20 most liquid stocks, advanced by 0.17% to 1,529.44 points, while the MASI ESG, which includes companies with the best ESG ratings as published by Moody’s ESG Solutions, saw a slight uptick of 0.06%, reaching 1,271.27 points.
In contrast, the MASI Mid and Small Cap index, which measures the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, decreased by 0.34% to 1,830.57 points.
On an individual stock basis, Med Paper led the gains, rising by 3.93% to 29.88 MAD, followed by Afriquia Gaz (+3.69% to 4,160 MAD), BCP (+3.12% to 295.95 MAD), Douja Prom Addoha (+2.65% to 38.69 MAD), and Cosumar (+2.32% to 211.8 MAD).
Conversely, Atlantasanad recorded the largest decline, dropping by 4.32% to 147.25 MAD, followed by CFG Bank (-1.98% to 243.1 MAD), Bank of Africa (-1.74% to 226 MAD), HPS (-1.7% to 516 MAD), and Disty Technologies (-1.62% to 364 MAD).
For reference, the MASI closed on Thursday with a gain of 0.46%.
