Bell Textron Chooses Aviarail to Expand Its Operations in Morocco

American Helicopter Manufacturer Bell Textron Expands Commercial Presence in Morocco
American helicopter manufacturer Bell Textron is strengthening its commercial presence in Morocco by designating the Moroccan company Aviarail as an authorized independent sales representative for its entire civilian range in the Kingdom. The announcement was made on Friday, October 9, 2026, during the Marrakech Air Show.
This appointment aims to enhance the manufacturer’s relationships with helicopter operators already present in Morocco and to support new clients interested in its aircraft. Fully owned by the American group Textron, Bell aims to broaden its commercial network in a market where its helicopters are already utilized, notably by the Royal Moroccan Air Force.
Aviarail: A Partner Based in Nouaceur
Located in the Sapino industrial zone in Nouaceur, near Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport, Aviarail operates in the fields of aeronautics and defense, as well as in aerospace and railway engineering.
As an authorized representative, the Moroccan company will be responsible for promoting Bell’s civilian helicopters across the national territory. Specifically, it will contribute to the commercial development of the brand among private operators and organizations that may use these aircraft for various missions.
Tim Evans, Bell’s Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa, lauded this new collaboration. According to him, Aviarail has the commercial expertise necessary to enhance the manufacturer’s visibility and promote its aerospace solutions in emerging markets.
A Versatile Range of Helicopters
Bell’s civilian portfolio includes several models catering to different operational needs. It ranges from the Bell 505 Jet Ranger X, a light single-engine helicopter, to the Bell 525, a medium twin-engine helicopter, along with the Bell 407GXi, Bell 429, and the Subaru Bell 412EPX.
These aircraft can be utilized for passenger transport, medical evacuations, rescue operations, and various public service missions.
The designation of Aviarail is expected to allow Bell to better promote this range in Morocco and support operators in their acquisition projects. This move is also part of the manufacturer’s strategy, which utilizes independent sales representatives to expand its geographic coverage.
A Moroccan Company Committed to Innovation
Beyond its commercial activities, Aviarail has experience in engineering and the development of technical solutions. In September 2023, the company was among the beneficiaries of industrial innovation grants awarded under the Innovation Support Fund.
Its project focused on designing a real fire simulator for aircraft, aimed at training firefighters. This installation replicates the conditions of an aircraft fire, enabling emergency teams to train in a realistic environment, including flames, smoke, and explosion risks.
This experience highlights the diversification of the company’s activities, whose positioning combines commercial representation, engineering, and technical solutions for the aerospace and railway sectors.
Bell Relying on a Commercial and Technical Network in Africa
The American manufacturer indicates it has several hundred helicopters in service with civilian and military operators across the African continent. To support this presence, Bell is developing a network made up of independent sales representatives, customer service centers, and authorized maintenance workshops.
Aviarail joins this framework as a commercial partner. Its role will focus on the promotion and sale of the aircraft, while maintenance and technical support will be handled by facilities authorized by the manufacturer.
Bell already applies this model in other international markets. In Switzerland, Centaurium Aviation notably acquired three Bell 505 helicopters when designated as a commercial representative in January 2020. In the UK and Ireland, Tangmere Aircraft Sales has represented several models in the range, including the Bell 429, Subaru Bell 412EPX, and Bell 525 since October 2025.
The Royal Moroccan Air Force: A Long-standing Client of Bell
Morocco already has ties with the American manufacturer in the field of military helicopters. In 2021, the Royal Moroccan Air Force ordered 24 Bell 412EPI, with a first batch delivered in the fall of 2022.
These twin-engine aircraft are intended to gradually replace older Bell 205, 206, and 212 helicopters used by the Moroccan military aviation.
However, this new commercial representation pertains solely to the manufacturer’s civilian range and does not announce a new military contract, but rather strengthens Bell’s commercial relations with the Moroccan market.
Founded in 1935, Bell Textron develops both civilian and military aircraft. The group notably participates in the production of the tiltrotor aircraft V-22 Osprey in partnership with Boeing and also designs military helicopters such as the AH-1.
With the appointment of Aviarail, Bell aims to consolidate its commercial footing in Morocco, while the Nouaceur-based firm steps into a new role in the distribution of civilian helicopters in the national market.
