AS FAR Takes the Lead in Botola Pro D1 after Classic Win Against Wydad Casablanca

AS FAR has risen to the top of the Botola Pro D1 "Inwi" with 48 points following their victory in the "Clasico" against Wydad Casablanca, winning 2-1 in a match that counted as the 24th round of the season.

With this success, the Military team regains first place, while Wydad Casablanca remains stagnant in fourth place with 43 points, losing ground in the title race.

AS FAR capitalized on the slip-up of the former leader, Renaissance Berkane, who lost 1-0 to Hassania Agadir (12th, 27 points). This defeat places the Oriental team in second place with 46 points.

Maghreb Fès squandered a golden opportunity to take charge of the Botola after drawing 1-1 with FUS Rabat (8th, 30 points) and now shares second place with RS Berkane, both on 46 points.

Raja Casablanca failed to secure all three points from their match against Union Touarga (13th, 21 points), settling for a 1-1 draw at home. Raja currently sits in fifth place, tied on 43 points with their rival, Wydad.

In the middle of the table, Difaa El Jadida has isolated itself in sixth place (32 points) after drawing 2-2 with Olympique Dcheira. The Doukkala team benefited from the defeat (1-2) of COD Meknès against Renaissance Zemamra (10th, 29 points). The Meknès club remains at 31 points in seventh place, followed by Kawkab Marrakech (8th, 30 points), who are tied with FUS Rabat.

Ittihad Tanger has climbed to tenth place with 29 points, tied with Renaissance Zemamra, after winning their home match against Union Yaacoub El Mansour 2-1.

At the bottom of the table, Olympic Safi finally breathed some fresh air after a crucial and valuable victory against Kawkab Marrakech (1-0). This victory brings the Mesfiouis’ total to 18 points in 15th place, reigniting hope of escaping the threat of relegation, just one point behind Olympique Dcheira (14th, 19 points).

Conversely, things are growing increasingly complicated for Union Yaacoub El Mansour, who sits at the bottom of the standings with only 17 points.

The results from this round confirm that upcoming matches promise to be rich in suspense, both for the final championship title and for the struggle to avoid relegation.
