His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid Hosts Gala Dinner in Rabat to Celebrate Golf Tournaments
His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid presided over a gala dinner in Rabat hosted by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, marking the 50th edition of the Hassan II Golf Trophy and the 29th edition of the Lalla Meryem Cup—two prominent competitions on the national and international sports calendar.
This ceremony is part of the celebration of two prestigious sporting events organized under the High Patronage of His Majesty the King, contributing to the prominence of Moroccan golf on both a continental and international scale.
The gala dinner brought together various personalities from the sports, institutional, and diplomatic worlds, as well as key figures involved in the organization of these historic competitions, which are among the most significant events in golf in Africa and the Arab world.
The Hassan II Golf Trophy, established in 1971 at the initiative of the late His Majesty King Hassan II, is now one of the most prestigious tournaments on the international circuit, held at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat.
Launched in 1993, the Lalla Meryem Cup serves as the female equivalent of this competition, aligning with the momentum of promoting women’s golf and the development of high-level sports in Morocco.
Since 2018, the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, has played an essential role in organizing and structuring national and international competitions, contributing to the modernization of the sector and the emergence of new Moroccan talents.
The 2026 edition marks a symbolic milestone as it celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Hassan II Trophy, reaffirming a royal vision that positions sports as a lever for the prominence, development, and international outreach of the Kingdom of Morocco.
