Benguerir: Signing of Two Agreements Between the Ministry of Industry and PHOVA Technology to Enhance Industrial Innovation

The city of Benguerir hosted the signing of two partnership agreements on Wednesday between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the company PHOVA Technology, aimed at strengthening industrial innovation, research and development, as well as fostering local industrial integration in hydraulic equipment for the water, desalination, energy, and mining sectors.
The “GreenSense 4.0” Project at the Heart of the Strategy
In this context, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, and the General Director of PHOVA Technology, Yassine Lagzouli, signed a financing agreement related to the project “GreenSense 4.0”, which falls under the Innovation Support Fund.
This project focuses on the development of autonomous sensors and digital twins aimed at predictive maintenance for intelligent water systems, with the goal of optimizing the management of water infrastructure.
An Agreement to Strengthen Local Industrial Integration
The two parties also signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing local industrial integration. This agreement outlines the development of engineering and manufacturing in Morocco for hydraulic equipment, particularly in the field of water desalination.
The objective is to increase the local integration rate in this strategic sector from 30% to 70%, aligning with national directives.
A Lever for Industrial and Water Sovereignty
These agreements are part of the implementation of High Royal Guidelines concerning water security and industrial sovereignty. They are expected to strengthen local supply chains and reduce reliance on imports of strategic equipment.
They also aim to accelerate the adoption of predictive maintenance solutions in critical water-related infrastructure.
The Minister Highlights Morocco’s Industrial Rise
Ryad Mezzour emphasized that these partnerships reflect Morocco’s ambition to consolidate its industrial sovereignty in key sectors such as water, energy, and mining.
He also underscored the importance of developing innovative solutions that are designed and manufactured locally to enhance the competitiveness of the national economy.
PHOVA Technology: A Model of Moroccan Innovation
For its part, PHOVA Technology presented three high-performance industrial pumps, fully designed and manufactured in Morocco, in accordance with the standards of the American Hydraulic Institute.
These equipment pieces, destined for the chemical industries, water treatment and desalination, mining, and general industry, illustrate Morocco’s ability to master the entire value chain of hydraulic equipment.
A Start-up Born from UM6P
Founded in 2023 at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Benguerir, PHOVA Technology develops industrial hydraulic solutions aimed at several strategic sectors, confirming the rise of technological innovation in Morocco.
