Fuels: Diesel Prices Decrease by 20 Cents

Fuel prices in Morocco are set for a new adjustment starting Friday, October 16, 2026, at midnight. The price of diesel will see a decrease of 20 cents, while the price of super gasoline will remain stable, according to information released regarding this pricing revision.
Diesel Prices Around 15.61 MAD per Liter
After the increase observed in early October, motorists will benefit from a slight drop in diesel prices. Beginning at midnight on Friday, October 16, fuel distributors will implement a reduction of 20 cents per liter.
Based on the estimated prices from the previous revision, diesel should now be priced around 15.61 dirhams per liter, down from approximately 15.81 dirhams previously.
As for super gasoline, its price is expected to remain unchanged, hovering around 15.33 dirhams per liter.
These amounts are indicative; actual prices may vary depending on the city, distributor, and gas station.
A Decrease Following Significant Increases Earlier in October
This new adjustment comes two weeks after the price hike implemented from the night of September 30 to October 1. At that time, the price of diesel had risen by 80 cents, while super gasoline increased by 39 cents.
The decrease announced for October 16 represents a limited retreat for diesel, following several increases noted since the summer.
On July 16, the price had already risen by 65 to 70 cents per liter. An additional hike of one dirham followed in early August, and then another increase of 65 cents in mid-August. Early September saw an additional adjustment of 6 cents before the more significant rise at the end of the month.
Gasoline Remains Stable Despite Recent Fluctuations
In contrast to diesel, super gasoline will not see any changes during this revision. Its price had increased by 39 cents per liter in early October, following several fluctuations observed over the summer.
This stability comes at a time when transportation costs continue to burden household budgets and company expenses, particularly those related to transport and logistics.
Despite the slight decrease announced, fuel prices remain high. The developments over the coming weeks will be closely monitored by drivers and professionals, for whom fuel costs are a significant expense.
