The SRM Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Receives Accreditation for Its Quality Control Laboratory According to NM ISO/IEC 17025:2018 Standards

Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Regional Multiservice Company Achieves Laboratory Accreditation

The Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Regional Multiservice Company (SRM-RSK) has announced the accreditation of its quality control laboratory in accordance with the NM ISO/IEC 17025:2018 standard.

This accreditation, granted on October 6, 2026, by the Ministry of Industry and Trade through the Moroccan Accreditation Service (SEMAC), certifies the laboratory’s technical competence and impartiality in conducting the tests covered by its accreditation scope.

A Monitoring System for Water Quality

The Quality Control Laboratory monitors the quality of drinking water distributed by SRM-RSK as well as wastewater. This oversight relies on a rigorous process, from sample collection to result validation.

Regarding drinking water, samples are taken at various points within the distribution network following a monitoring program designed to ensure their representativeness. They are then transported to the laboratory under strict temperature control, received, registered, and inspected. Subsequently, they are directed to specialized units for physical-chemical and microbiological analysis in accordance with standardized protocols.

Daily Sample Collection

Between January 1 and August 31, 2026, the laboratory analyzed 6,768 samples collected from networks managed by the Provincial Directorates of SRM-RSK, covering 32,021 bacteriological parameters and 63,312 physical-chemical parameters. This monitoring is complemented by 167,689 chlorine tests to ensure the ongoing disinfection of water within the distribution network.

A Broad Scope Covering Drinking Water and Wastewater

The accreditation encompasses ten microbiological and physical-chemical tests related to both drinking water and wastewater. These analyses are crucial for detecting indicator bacteria of contamination, measuring specific characteristics of drinking water, and assessing the pollutant load of wastewater.

Commitment to Quality and Continuous Improvement

Through this accreditation, SRM-RSK reaffirms its commitment to quality and the continuous improvement of its services, fostering public trust in the reliability of its laboratory’s analytical results.

On this occasion, the General Director of SRM-RSK, Mrs. Fatima Guennouni, stated: "The quality of water is a fundamental requirement of our public service mission. This accreditation acknowledges the competence and rigor of our teams and reflects our commitment to continuously enhance the reliability of our control systems."
