Arkia Resumes Direct Flights Between Tel Aviv and Marrakech After Three Years of Suspension

Israeli Airline Arkia to Resume Direct Flights from Tel Aviv to Marrakech

Israeli airline Arkia has announced the resumption of its direct flight service between Tel Aviv and Marrakech, effectively ending a three-year hiatus caused by the ramifications of the conflict in the Middle East. The first flights are set to commence on August 24, 2026, with two weekly rotations.

In an announcement on its official Facebook page, Arkia detailed that flights will operate on Mondays and Wednesdays. The airline highlights Marrakech as one of Morocco’s most attractive tourist destinations, renowned for its historical heritage, vibrant souks, exquisite gastronomy, and stunning desert landscapes—now made accessible again through this direct connection.

Arkia also reminds Israeli travelers wishing to visit Morocco that a visa must be obtained in advance, encouraging customers to complete the necessary administrative procedures prior to their departure.

According to various Israeli media outlets, the reopening of this route marks the return of one of the most popular itineraries before the onset of regional conflict, reinstating Morocco as a favored destination for Israeli tourists. Tickets will be priced starting at $329 for a one-way journey, with flights operated by Airbus A320 aircraft.

This announcement comes just months after reports suggesting the reestablishment of air links between Morocco and Israel. Meanwhile, Royal Air Maroc previously stated that it currently does not operate any direct flights between the two countries. Before the suspension, Royal Air Maroc provided service on the Casablanca-Tel Aviv route, while several Israeli airlines also serviced Casablanca and Marrakech.
